Last Post on CityWink

I've been busy and with the holidays coming up, I'll only get busier.
Life is pretty darn fabulous and every second just makes me want to get up and dance.
This song is nice 'n happy :)
OK I need a new blogsite soon.

Sistar - How Dare You

Forty

Here's a song I like having in the background on a calm night while I do my internet thingggg
4men + Mi - Here I Am (from the Secret Garden OST) from 909Urnobody (where I update myself on the latest Kpop)
I love that one guys's's's' voice from 4men - so distinctive.

In a way, I have a LOT of time right now because I'm only working 20 hrs/week and I'm not planning for any trips and surprisingly don't have hardly any errands. Guess it's time to "work on my room", exercise, and think of Xmas!

Some random pictures from today(ish)...

H and M polish - colour pigmentation was perfect and it went on really well but, i guess w/out top coat, it chips easily.
Driving to Ikea w/ mom - so pretty seeing all the bare trees with thin strips of fresh snow on their branches. difficult to take a decent picture when the car is moving on a highway...

after ikea, @ homesense. can you imagine having this huge bell on your tree??? it's almost as big as my head!!
A $238 konked-out reindeer that's big enough for me to sit on.
@ bowring
of course my mom liked this ornament... at first, i was like "hey look! a monkey snowman!" and then i realized they were earmuffs hahahah
the start of our hot pot @ cattle in richmond for auntie S's bday. meat always comes first.. if i were the restaurant server, i'd serve the carbs first and then meat. fiiiilll'er up!
i saw this new kid-friendly pacman pinball machine that emerald got for her bday and asked if it was from my uncle andrew. of course it was lol (he's really into collecting those giant pinball machines - says they're an investment)
 fun and plastic-y
triton says that i should put my hands in my pocket 'cause it's the cool way.
playing hide-and-go-seek. taken right when i found him
haha i like these sorts of pics 'cause there's a lot going on and shows the personality of the ppl in it. triton wanted to blow out the candle but he's recovering from a cold so auntie anna (who just recovered from a 2 wk cold) held one out away from the cake for him to blow and he accidentally ended up missing blowing the candle and blew right into auntie anna's face (avec saliva) loll which is why my auntie sandy is laughing so hard.
And sidenote, my uncle k hasn't shaved since the beginning of november to show his support for prostate cancer (which also explains why my cousin also looked like an old greasy man the other day.. and i was thinking "gee, what a coincidence they've both started growing a moustache!"). He knows that it's a terrible look for him. 10 more days and it will be gone.
auntie S's reaction after seeing our reaction when she brought out this huge, hideous metal turtle she bought as part of my grandma's gift for christmas. "it was only 9 bucks!"... i wonder why... btw, the head can move back and forth, too. it's on a spring.
snow snow snow. M, B, and I came out after singing karaoke and it's snowing hardddd. so magical, i love it!!
Until tomorrow.....

Thinking Ahead

Kind of wish I could make it to their Gossip performance on Oct 23rd...

I need to hang out around Yaletown more often! It was my first time actually getting off at Yaletown Roundhouse last Thursday. Quite a different, dare I say ('cause I've never been there) "Montreal"-feel?? Very stylish people. Observed tall tall tall guy wearing black skinnies and black oxford-laced Aldo heels. He wasn't very good at walking in them (at all.... his ankles buckled and it almost looked painful. He really needs a few lessons from Miss Jay), but he would have been a great stand-still model - especially with the angles on his face.

Currently inspired to simplify my life and live more minimalist-like... owning less JUNK and things I don't need. Less stuff, more substance... which definitely starts with my closet. There are a few things (dresses, specifically) that I'm holding on just 'cause I've only worn them a few times and they're perfectly good.
Hmm but how is this going to work with my love of clothes/accessories/bags/products/magazines? I think I can still get them, but to keep ones that I really don't wear (and can't see myself wearing ever again) out. Got to get rid of my PJs sigh.

Even though my 3.5 week trip is in less than a week and even though I'm looking forward to it like no tomorrow (i'm filling up my Athina Moleskine with lots of things to see/do), I'm already dreaming about my next few trips!

Thinking:
October: Korea (6 days) and Japan (13 days) and possibly HK (4days) for 23ish days
And, don't know when, but I want to go to Montreal (3 or 4 days), Toronto (3 or 4 days), and NY (5 or 6 days) (one trip, possibly 1.5ish weeks). I think Fall would be great - might have to wait until 2012. I think I can wait.
Morocco, Portugal, Italy (1 trip, 3 weeks) - possibly London...
Australia (1.5-2 weeks)
India and Sri Lanka (2.5 weeks)
Why is the world so big..... how come everywhere is so far away... and how come it doesn't look like I'll make it back to Paris anytime soon?! Noooooooooooooooo

why does alexander wang have such greasy hair during his holts bloor st. visit? he cute and i'd love to meet him one day!

I'm obsessed with matcha. Matcha everything!!!!!!

Anyway, I was telling M how I feel very content with life right now - everything is smooth and dandy and I'm kind of sailing... but that's a bit of a "problem".. or I am going to hit into a brick wall soon enough because I'm not really challenging myself. How can I make myself better? Well, my physical state is an easy thing to point out lol. hmm maybe I should just start with one thing. Yea. Sounds like a plan...

And When You Smile...

OK, who doesn't like this song? Heard this version on my brother's iPhone and love it.
Oh, and I chose this background 'cause it's of a cardboard robot. Perfect for this blog theme? Yes. (It was a decision between this and baby Cookie Monster). I like how it looks like it's in motion, too.
Conor Maynard + Anth - Just The Way You Are
(It doesn't sound half as good on this netbook as it did in the car... bad speaker quality)

August 5, 2010

OK. I Admit. I'm Insanely Spoiled.

Song I've been listening to recently:
G.NA - I'll Back Off So You Can Live (MV)
Would you still be my friend if I looked like this?
...  no?
How about if I had biiiig teeth like this?
hehehe had some fun using photobooth last night.
Baby and I were treated to dinner at Sanafir by the boys. Happy 23rd!! Look how much we've grown up!! I wish I had a picture of us from Gr 3 on this netbook to compare.
Sanafir wasn't bad :) We shared a ton of tapas. I went to Trattoria the day before with my family and had a super lovely watermelon mojito. So much food two days in a row!
Sanafir - Arabian-style (inspired).
I would still say that the Italian Kitchen is my favourite out of all of the Glowbal restaurants I've tried so far.
Then we hung out at my house (Bern came later) and played games w/ soju until I lost many times in a row and found myself in my bed.. yea. It was fun.

Beautiful birthday bouquet from the boy (hah. alliteration)

On Sunday, Melanie had me over for our yearly tradition - sleep over at her house where I'm completely spoiled. She picked me up from Renfrew and Hastings and when I went upstairs, she had a pretty display of pate, cheese, veggies drizzled with EVOO, pita, and prawns cooked in wine and garlic. Candles and a floral centerpiece... whala
Riesling!! Bird-label LOL
Then we played Scrabble in her front yard and in the middle, she went inside and brought out a homemade turtle cake!! So sweet~~~
The next morning, she made me a Spanish Latte wannabe with the espresso beans I bought her from Artigiano along with her well-loved basil/mint/cheese/spinach omelette. Mmm Mmmmm

This is Max.
BEFORE my birthday, M and Baby surprised me downtown with the pair of Gucci sunnies I've been eying!! Aahh I love them!! I don't have a decent picture with them on... but here they are. Yes, I know I'm indoors and please excuse the messy washroom. I was trying out my bright orange lippy and a blush combo (bronzer with orange) but they don't really show brightly in this picture.
Don't I have the sweetest, most thoughtful and generous people in my life? I feel so special and truly blessed.
Thank you [heart]~~~~

Beginning of July

Still really like this song a lot! Usher ft. will.i.am - OMG

I love the store Liberty on W. Broadway!!!
Nad, this was the bed I was talking about where the pillows take up half of the bed!
I was thinking how neat it would be to have two pendant lamps come down on either side of my bed. It would make more space for junk books, pictures, and candles on my bedside tables!
Clean, fresh, and contemporary traditional.

Spa day w/ Mommy today~ we got our eyebrows done at Silky Touch (guh, it's been 2 days over a month since I've been in last!). Then, we went to Spa Utopia in North Van (Harbourside). It's very nice inside and boy do you pay for ambiance/service. They actually pamper and wait on you.  I had their "designed for U" facial and my mom had a full body signature massage. I snuck a couple of pictures off my cell phone before the battery went kaput.

This is inside the bathroom where you get a locker with your own robe, towel, and bath sandals. There are a bunch of products for you to use, some cucumber water and lemon water, a hairdryer, a curling iron, and sanitized combs. They also have a eucalyptus steam room/sauna which was very nice.
I tried curling my hair... lol fail :( I really need practice.
Outside the change room, they have this lounge area where you can sip different teas (in mugs or champagne-type flutes!) with mint leaves and lemon slices, eat a bunch of dried nuts and fruit, and read magazines with the spa music in the background. Soothing, but I hear the spa music all day at work so kind if ineffective for me.

Then quickly chowed down some sashimi at Sushi Town in N. Van and browsed around Ginger Jar Interiors (love their outdoor furniture!!! It really makes me swoon. They have some really unique indoor pieces too but they are super pricey) + made a pit stop at home before heading over to J.Lo's place just off of Commercial Dr. I would eat out so much if I lived where she was! Almost all the restaurants on Commercial Dr. are great... and they're known for such a variety, too! Anyway, she's been working on her garden recently and invited my family over for a BBQ. Apparently it (the backyard) was a bunch of nothingness before. It's nice how lush all her neighbour's back yards are! They really spend a lot of time tending to their yards. Good company~ spoiled by good food, too. Then, at the end, her partner brought out a portable firepit which kept us really warm outside (I need to get one)!

They made this arbor!
She installed little deck lights, too! So neat. Let's go acampin' in my backyard!!

[Currently scrambling to download Hangeng's new song, My Logo. I hope it's good!!!! OH and Brown Eyed Soul has a new single out!!! Is it Christmas?]

A classic song to practice Korean... and another song to add to our karaoke list.

Three Things

Chiddy Bang - Truth (HD)
Upbeat song. Sounds like something you'd hear in Aritizia.
Oooooo pretty engraved mac (photo from Garance Dore)
It was a gift from P.Diddy.. or whatever name he uses now.. Sean Combs? lol to this guy I've never heard of.

On a completely different tone, I can't tell you how much I love love love love LOVE the blog this is glamorous!
After all these years, it never ceases to make me fall in love with every picture she posts... I'm almost tempted to put sofia coppola's super perfect white linen sectional as my desktop picture. J'taime French style... le sigh.

Still loving the prt scrn function on the mac! Saved a bunch of outfit love from the Fall runway to be posted soon!

I work with crazy ladies - love it. I should just write a blog about them. I'm sure it would generate a ton of hits.

Natbot's Official Procrastination Checklist

When I engage in extreme procrastination, I think in this order...

Hungry/thirsty? Usually yes...
Feel dirty? If yes in the slightest, I shower...
Teeth clean? Yes...
Face clean? Face mask...
Does laundry need to be done?
Did I vacuum yet this week?
Is there anything bugging me that needs to get done before I get back to work?

If everything needs doing, then it takes quite a while.. sometimes a couple hours... and then I work for a bit and repeat the cycle.

Thank goodness it officially ends tomorrow!

2PM - Without You
Their Mnet performance outfits were kinda ugly... they look like early 90's greasers. Cheesy moves (like the "OK" move), somewhat expected, but I was hoping for more of a cool dance like what they're usually known for. Why do they look like they're wiping a table with that hand move? And their "without you" arm point motion looks like they're doing some kickboxing move. Don't know why Khun's rapping starts with "everything happens for a reason" twice. Besides those, I like!

Back to the 90's

Bravo All Stars 1998 - Let The Music Heal Your Soul
Take 5 - I Give (Low Quality)

Travie McCoy feat. Bruno Mars - "Billionaire"

Love this song. Excuse the potty mouthness.
