Clearing Up My Desktop

Some pics I saved on my rarely-used PC:

Love the vintage black top!! Kind of jealous of the buy, actually...
Cute for booties. Just noticed the spikes lol
I kind of like that tee a lot for some reason.
Winter come now!! I'm waitingggggg
2 weeks until Greece. It hasn't hit me yet that I'm going because I've been busy and work has been kind of overwhelming that I need to put in 3 or 4 extra days before I leave.

Illuminating

Celebrity Lamp:

"A light bulb surrounded by forty pairs of mirrored aviator sun glasses, which cast a kaleidoscope of shadows when the lamp is lit. This Celebrity Lamp may lack subtlety, but it makes up for it with countless opportunities to check yourself out."

My note: very stylish, but such a pain to windex...

I love this Halston Heritage Kimono Wrap Long Dress [$795 on Shopbop].  The beautiful leaf-like beading reminds me of a couple of super-shoulder-padded beaded dresses my mom needs to alter if she would ever wear it again.

Some Fall Lusts

All Saints Damson Jacket (100% Leather)
Swooooon
I actually really like this even though it's 1. Ugg and 2. Clog-style. I think it'd be really comfy for Winter and durable in mild snow.
Love shorts with an oversized cuff like the Paul&Joe ones Betty from le blog de betty is wearing.
Really really eying the Fall maxi skirt. Would love to try some on. Dark gray please (more casual, more wearable for everyday)! This one is beautiful though - the intricate lace overlay detail. But oh right - I still need to wear my French Connection maxi dress haha! oops....
Forgot where I got this picture from.. it was just sitting on my desktop. I like the mod oversized collar, but it's very similar to my Zara coat. Mod.
Net-a-porter.  Adding safety pins makes luxe into tough-luxe. I love! DIY.
And just something cool I was sent at work. I believe this is all by Johan Ku from Taiwan...
Fall Lust List:
- dark coloured maxi skirt
- lace-up/strappy-wrap bootie
- to-the-knee leather boots with a bit of a heel
- fur-collared cinched waist jacket
- leather gloves
- chain jewelry
- wool coat (possibly Club Monaco)
- sequined skirt
- chunky sweaters
- slouchy knits
- 2 pairs of jeans
- parka
- possibly hair extensions
- clutch
- bagbagbagbagbag

Band-Aid

This song is on repeat on my mp3! It's from 4 Minute's new album and this song is called "Invitation". It sounds really good when you turn up your speakers.

The most perfect clear traveling/makeup/liquid holder bag - Ferragamo

Melanie's Convocation today~ chukahae chingu-ya~!!
(Finally wore one of my many dresses from Korea)
And me - even though I didn't grad from UBC, I'm not going to my convocation on June 18th so this will have to do, I guess.
I want something like this dress~ I forgot which site this picture is from...

Nice ring....
I'm looking for gold, mirrored nesting bedside tables!!!
Neat focal headboard
Love this dress.. is this Thandie Newton? She always has such great style.
Nice~
Sex and the City 2 was pretty bad plot-wise and the ending seemed like a rush of fillers/unbelievable series of events, but loved the places they visited and soaking in all the style. Some laugh-able parts.

It's been really busy around here. Treasuring the time I have at home doing my own thing. In June, I'll be working more and I have a lot of occasions to celebrate (friends+mom's+gpa's bday, father's day etc) and darn I still need to get my L and start Young Drivers among many other things.. AH I only have 26 days to put my room together! Mattress shopping soon~ I'm loving nail bolt accents.

Gaga Sipping Tea in a Car. Nice Shirt.

I really like this picture. She looks like a posh (and somewhat frail) grandmother with flawless skin and no wrinkles... yet we know that she's really only 24. And, I mean, using bone china while in a car? Funny!
Love the print screen function on macs! One step process that automatically saves onto your desktop.  It doesn't require me cutting, copying, and pasting onto Microsoft Paint which loses the image quality!

The Importance of Word Choice...

From Asos... at first, I thought this was a neat dress. I really liked the sheer draping and the overall shape... but, reading that it is "mosquito net inspired" totally ruined the awe of the dress for the next few moments! I still love the overlay, though. I'm currently looking for a one-shoulder dress.

oh hello.

feels like forever since i've posted something on here! the weather has been great all week, i'm done with my undergrad completely, and i've started some part-time work starting up the fashion/makeup blog (it's going to be up soon! haha i keep on saying that) and now some marketing-related work which will involve me learning lots of new skills (so excited!). i've been exercising here and there, i've been hanging out with my friends,  i'm going to get my L soon and start the young drivers program and i am going to start planning my room soon so that will also be challengingly fun (my room is kind of oddly-shaped). so yea - that's pretty much a condensed update on what has been happening here. oh and i am probably going to leave my current restaurant job and look for another one soon. i'm wondering if i should see what my schedule would be like for june or if i should try to find another serving job for fun. i'm thinking for banquets or for a hotel. oh yea and i'm currently watching the korean drama, iris. i've watched the first 6 episodes of personal taste (with the lovely lee min ho in it), but the characters are so annoying i can hardly bear to watch another episode even though lee min ho is such great eyecandy even if he doesn't smile that much. on my spare time, i want to continue to improve my korean and learn how to cook different things.. and maybe even get into sewing. and small diy projects  of course, i going to start saving for trips.
life is great - there's so much to do now that i have time ^^

anyway, i didn't really think of writing an update when i felt like posting - i just wanted to show you this amazing blazer that i am so sad was sold out in all sizes on ruelala. it's by whitney eve (which, i think is designed by whitney port from the hills.. oh yea - i just found out that her middle name is "eve". makes sense now). out of hautelook, giltgroupe, and ruelala, i browse ruelala the least.. maybe once every six months and i just happened to look today and now i'm so disappointed i did because i know i can't have this blazer!
it would have been the perfect addition to my wardrobe for both day and night.. something i could see myself not being able to live without (yes, drama queen cue commences). love the length of the sleeves (so flattering and spring/summer-like), and the gold collar (along with the metallic threads) project the perfect amount of "sparkle" i love and it is what makes the jacket fun and not so business-like. plus, the length! it can act as both a dress and just a regular boyfriend blazer! aaaaah
i'm pretty impressed with whitney port's designs - 10x better than lauren conrads', that's for sure. unfortch, looks like a lot of the nice ones are sold out/unavailable.

craving something sequined!!

Stayin' In

First lounge day~ sure looks windy and chilly out!

Got my tonkatsu fix, bbt fix, lobster fix, sushi fix, and gummy fix. Huspaz!

Got a B in my Regional Development class so far. Not bad. Wonder why capitalism class is taking so long! I just need to know if I've passed.. then I can celebrate for real!!

I'm going through a bunch of new Korean music uploaded on Youtube. Norazo's album is so distinctively Norazo-style and kind of silly-fun to listen to. I keep on hearing elements from their famous Superman song in every one of their songs on this album haha

Was browsing around the Michael Kors website -- really love this dress and would love it in white. Of course, after I get a bit toned haha

I realize it reminded me of Kim Kardashian's outfit at the Kentucky Derby.
To be worn with lucite jewelry. Thinking of doing a DIY tutorial for this sometime in May.
I like the glimmers of gold in the one above.

Also liking MK's Hamilton Large Tote in Vanilla White
Currently looking for a gold, chunky (oversized) watch, menswear inspired, with a large face. Maybe something like this Michael Kors Runway Watch with Glitz. Wonder how different it will look in person...

Add Detail.. and Oil..

Bustiers have come to be a new trend for this Spring. When I first came across them on Susie Bubble's blog where she was gifted a bustier from her boyfriend for Christmas, I was puzzled.  How could such an "accessory"/"top" be worn in a way that's wearable and tasteful instead of its effortlessly awkward and ridiculous way? I think wearing a bustier on top of a plain tee is too easy and often badly executed. It's something all un-daring people who wanted to wear a bustier would resort to.. and it's very Forever21-like. And, wearing it on its own with pants or a skirt is not very classy in my eyes.. only 'cause I've never been much a midriff person - baring your whole stomach is sexier, IMO.. and should only be done when wearing a bathing suit. Of course, it's different if you wear your pants/skirts all the way up to where your bustier ends like here. But anyway, thanks to FashionToast, I now know!
Tone on tone and on top of a breezy dress gives the outfit texture and a whole new look for your plain dress. Love this look.
Although it looks good in my head, I wonder what a leather bustier would look like over a lace cut-out racerback tank... or a lacy bustier with a leather jacket.. haha my attempts to bring together edgy with girly.. nothing new. Anyway, considering I would probably not swipe my Visa for one, I haven't done much research on it.  I'm sure these looks have been done many times already!

This is the gray ribbed blazer I was talking about in one of my recent lusts.  I want this exact one minus the power shoulders.

AHhh so fabulous I want to steal it off her shoulders.

Crazy wind today - I was almost swept off my feet! 1 more week of attending classes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dore, Garance

hehe I had a bit of a chuckle reading Garance Dore's blog. Cute sense of humour.

Ready for an extreme opposite-of-glamor explosion? Okay, so let’s do this, I’m totally up for it. And don’t act like it’s never happened to you before.

We’ve all woken up, some normal morning, and realized there’s a huge pimple right in the middle of our forehead. Everyone, yep. Even… ME. And more than once. Life’s just a bitch sometimes.

How we got there is never really the question. The fact that one of my 10 basics in life has to be all chocolate M&Ms is certainly something to look at, but for the moment, the thing to concentrate on, the task at hand is… HOW TO YOU HIDE THIS ENORMOUS MOUND THAT JUST RUINED MY DAY?

I’ve tested a few solutions. Some good. Some not so good. There are also a few things that have come to mind. Some I’ve tried, others not. Something like:
- Cut myself some bangs. Yep, just like that, bam, right there, dry. I’ve thought of it, yes I have.
- Put make up on the intruder. Pffffff, yeah, a little obvious. But in the end, I think it would make it even more noticeable and we’re trying to hide it here.
- Wear something absolutely delirious to create a diversion. Like a giant Vuitton Duffle bag, for example.
- Say something absolutely delirious to create a diversion. Something like, “Oh! This morning, I had breakfast with Arnold Schwarzenegger,” for example.
- Do what this girl I know does who draws on a little mole (no, not a real mole kids, not like a whack-a-mole mole, we’re talking a fake little beauty mark). I don’t know why I think it’s so gross. Maybe because I have a beauty mark myself, ahah, oh man, I really gotta stop diving head first in the snow every morning.
- Or this guy who puts on a nice little band-aide. A nice idea? Not when you’ve gotta answer 657 times a day, “A BLOB!!!” whenever someone asks you gently what happened.
- The radical option = DON’T GO OUT. The thing with that is if I don’t go out, I’ll be so embarrassed by the whole situation that I won’t be able to look at myself in the mirror, even though that when I get a pimple, I have to look at myself in the mirror 35 times an hour just to get updates on the state of the maturity of the disaster.
- Say YEAH OKAY OKAY TOTALLY to the girl who tells you she will apply super smart essential oils that will make the evil bulge disappear in a few hours. Let her put the essential oils on, and then suddenly, watch the bulge grow right in front of your eyes. Powerless.
- Wear a hat that goes down really low (in case the pimple is situated on the forehead.)
- Or a scarf worn really high (in case the pimple is situated on the chin.)
- Cry (in case the pimple is situated on the nose.)
- Make up stupid jokes. Like :
- I don’t have to give up on a modeling career. I can still be a hand model.

Jokes are stupid. But stupid jokes are perfect to show that you’re totally cool with yourself and in your own skin.
I’ve looked hard, but I think the best solution is the last. Unless you’ve got something better? I mean like, a little bulge, it’s nothing right? Do we really have to make a whole bunch of hoopla? Or wait, is that exactly what I just did?

Oh how I would love a Garance Dore illustration on my wall.............!

This is one of the girls she shot somewhat recently. Trend overload, IMO with the fur, safari/field jacket, and the Mulberry bag (okok.. you can argue that the bag is a new classic). Loooove the shoes though. Can't wait to look for them next Fall!

Anyway, her site is somehow addictive. If I ever had her talent for street style and fashion illustration, I would want my site to look and have exactly the same feel as hers.

Man.. can you tell I'm in procrastination-mode again? Midterm this Fri, 3 12-15 page papers due next week (haven't started any), and 1 paper and 1 take-home exam (15 pages each) due the week after. SIGH.

Currently lusting:
- silk easy shorts with cuff
- new pair of sunnies
- black and white geometric patterned mini dress
- new hair colour
- gray ribbed knit blazer
- a clutch ** really need one
- still not over that black maxi dress...

Like The Wind

wow I did absolutely NO work this weekend! Guilty? Hmmm not really haha.. but tomorrow, I'll have to read 2 chapters of capitalism, read my 420 article on Emotional Cultural Geography (kinda interesting) and write a 5 pg. paper. They're all "due" Tuesday.. and then the rest of the week is pretty much FREE!!!!! This is gonna be one of the best school weeks ever this term hehehe
Gonna sleep like a grandma at 10:45 tonight and wake up early to start work. Aja!

(the City Wink header is such an eyesore!!!! Another thing to add onto the "to-do when I'm done school" list... though a super low priority.)
