Fall 2010 Women's Ready-to-Wear Runway Report
The Fall 2010 runways showed a stripped-down maturity in New York, Milan and Paris. Customers continue to look for quality clothing and designers delivered it to them with newness in longer hemlines, mixes of textures, fabrics and techniques. Structure, architectural design and details were the hallmark of this season.
Coats were a standout from redingotes, reefers & masculine toppers to fur-trimmed parkas. Look for fur accents, beautifully sculpted knits, colour highlights of camel and crimson, poetic + romantic styles, androgynously tailored pieces and those with military influences in store this Fall!
Key Designers
New York: Marc Jacobs, Donna Karan, Michael Kors, The Row, rag + bone

Milan: Fendi, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Missoni, Marni

Paris: Dries Van Noten, Haider Ackermann, Celine, Givenchy, Balmain, Lanvin
What You'll Want to Wear This Fall
The Reefer,
The Cigarette Pant or Legging, looking very new with a print, The Sweater Dress,
The Knitted or Fur Loop Ring Scarf,
The Stash Bag, and
The Pointed Toe Pump
Key Trends
Iconic Dressing: as seen on the Celine runway
Crimson All Over: a lady in red from day-to-night as seen on the
Dolce & Gabbana runway
Marching Order: military influence, brass buttons, epaulettes, buckles, metal hardwear and utility function as seen on the Marc by Marc Jacobs runway
Wild Thing: fur, fur and more fur! On sleeveless vests, coats, trims & linings, hats, bags, mitts and shoes as seen on the Michael Kors runway
Knit Picking: various gages of knits for sweaters, dresses and outerwear. Knitted accessories include hair bands, scarves, bags, gloves and tights as seen on the Stella McCartney runway

I'm excited for Fall! I'd love to get a fur collar parka (not a fur- trimmed hood).
