Wishlist

most of these are winter necessities that i can't seem to find "the right one" at the moment, so by "wishlist", i'm wishing for "the right kind" to show up in front of my face somewhere whether it's online or when i'm shopping!

In no order, here's a link-filled needlist...
  1. slim boots (knee-high riders with a 1.5-3.5" chunky heel (like see by chloe's vintage london II or OTK classic.. why do they only come in that colour??) and a pair of suede over the knees w/ a decent heel)
  2. booties
  3. gloves (fitted leather, easy for me to move my fingers, buttery soft outside, super soft insides)
  4. shu uemura holiday lashes from the girl on the left... xept it comes predecorated! booooo nevermind. tragic.
  5. some chain jewelry (i plan to DIY for work) like from armorjewelry or dannijo
  6. a bag (can someone tell me why clothes are so easy to buy but accessories aren't??)
  7. running gear (booo boring... but i think i need it.. mainly long-sleeve pull-over running tops that are cute... how does lulu not have any cute ones at the slightest?!)
  8. i want to try the Canada Goose Whistler coat for a long coat - i think i saw somewhere on W. Broadway selling it... hillsound? and/or a MONCLER... though i only like their short styles: Quincy, Ingres, Acajou. mini michelin doll be i! speaking of michelin, haha!
  9. SK-II face masks
  10. a winter fragrance
  11. single-photo frames with thin-ish wood frames and different-sized mats similar to the ones at pottery barn
  12. black LV epi leather agenda - just to be old-school and write things down
  13. crystallize my bose headphones with black bling like these urbanoutfitter ones
  14. a 13" macbook air... with a case that has the same black, alligator embossed material and design as this rebecca minkoff passport holder
  15. a few beautiful glass and silver (girly apothecary-style) containers for my bathroom counter for my cotton pads and q-tips
  16. larger wicker-type garbage basket in a grayish-beigeish shade
  17. bathroom storage solutions (in huge need! 'cause right now i'm using this and it's not working. you know those really neat IKEA swing/pull outs they have for those awkwardly-shaped kitchen cabinets? I need that, except in a quarter-of-a-circle shape that fits my small small small bathroom under sink cabinet.. or something like this might do except.. in bigger form) but they say, if there's nowhere to go, build up! so, i was thinking of shelves or something but my porkchop + cabinet colours are quite hard to match.....
And I def. don't need another travel bag, but this is sure nice to have - Alexander Wang Daphne Duffle (which is pure duffle perfection if there's ever such a thing)

Anyhow, first day of "snow".  Slushy loveliness. I want it to snow hard so I can wear my snow boots and all my coats (oops just realized I don't have a ski coat anymore!!!... shoot.. add that to the list.).. oh wait, I don't really... 'cause I have my driving quiz tmr. booo

Going to wake up pretty early tomorrow to wash my bed sheets and clean my bathroom thoroughly.. and possibly organize my nail polish but that may be my overachieving side coming out. oh what am I talking about!!

Oh, that reminds me - I have to fix my zipper on this puffy black coat I haven't worn in 2 years!

AND starting tomorrow, I will start treating my hands and feet better... here come those thick salves and creams and those gloves and socks you wear to bed!

Tried SushiYama today w/ my mom on Broadway. Really friendly service and their chirashi don and caterpillar roll were great, but their futomaki roll was.. nothing like a typical futomaki roll, but still tasted good. I'd go again. Not too cheap. Korean-owned - lots of young servers.

Currently out of space in my drawer-set and closet. I think a total redo of my closet would allow me to fit a LOT more (2-tiers!!) butchea. not today nor anytime soon. I will get rid of my huge PJ (I mean, old clothes) collection soon... but I've worn them all in so well! Sigh. Just wore my old elementary school graduation tee yesterday.  Oh yes, it has many holes, but it has held up well for being over 10 years old!!!!

Last thing: ASOS is having free shipping WORLDWIDE. That's huge! Doesn't say when it ends, so if you're getting something, buy NOW!

Just got news of 2.8 magnitude earthquake in HK. Got me wondering how durable all those highrises are.....

Lust

omg omg omg i love these earrings!!!!!!

I don't know which colour I want most... I love the champagne one 'cause it is a bit of a softer look than the onyx and is strangely beautiful.  The emerald is super pretty but it looks transparent so it might look dirty in person - better on a blonde.  The berry is different - i don't have any berry-coloured earrings.. and as much as I like looking at the rose one, I don't think it would look that good on me.

On a diff topic, I just wanted to let you know that YSL lipsticks are the most amazing lipsticks I have ever tried. Long lasting and the colour is brilliant. I almost bought a bright fuschia one in Sweden but decided not to and couldn't find the same shade in Amsterdam. Next international flight...

BEST INVITATION EVER!

Refinery29 posted 12 creative invitations to New York Fashion Week 2010. This was my favourite, naturally
Just some others.. on bubble wrap
I thought this was a great idea - found on this great blog I found, Ruby Boutique. It's an invitation to fashion quarterly's 30th birthday (I believe they are based in New Zealand). Their ticket for entry was this chic leather bracelet!
Limited edition - only 250 were made for those invited to the bash.
A real nice keepsake, too

Wouldn't it be so much fun to be an invitation designer with a HUGE spending allowance?

Love love.

Some Fall Lusts

All Saints Damson Jacket (100% Leather)
Swooooon
I actually really like this even though it's 1. Ugg and 2. Clog-style. I think it'd be really comfy for Winter and durable in mild snow.
Love shorts with an oversized cuff like the Paul&Joe ones Betty from le blog de betty is wearing.
Really really eying the Fall maxi skirt. Would love to try some on. Dark gray please (more casual, more wearable for everyday)! This one is beautiful though - the intricate lace overlay detail. But oh right - I still need to wear my French Connection maxi dress haha! oops....
Forgot where I got this picture from.. it was just sitting on my desktop. I like the mod oversized collar, but it's very similar to my Zara coat. Mod.
Net-a-porter.  Adding safety pins makes luxe into tough-luxe. I love! DIY.
And just something cool I was sent at work. I believe this is all by Johan Ku from Taiwan...
Fall Lust List:
- dark coloured maxi skirt
- lace-up/strappy-wrap bootie
- to-the-knee leather boots with a bit of a heel
- fur-collared cinched waist jacket
- leather gloves
- chain jewelry
- wool coat (possibly Club Monaco)
- sequined skirt
- chunky sweaters
- slouchy knits
- 2 pairs of jeans
- parka
- possibly hair extensions
- clutch
- bagbagbagbagbag

Mixed Textures

Lulu, I kind of dislike you right now.
I want your comme des garcons wallet and can't find it anywhere online... not on La Garconne nor SSENSE, not on Oak, Blackbird and not even on Opening Ceremony.

Weighed Down

Ahhh this is genius for those light-weight scarves that fly about in the wind! Plus, it adds that metal detail I love (and want to try)!
Thanks, Susie Bubble!

Beginning of July

Still really like this song a lot! Usher ft. will.i.am - OMG

I love the store Liberty on W. Broadway!!!
Nad, this was the bed I was talking about where the pillows take up half of the bed!
I was thinking how neat it would be to have two pendant lamps come down on either side of my bed. It would make more space for junk books, pictures, and candles on my bedside tables!
Clean, fresh, and contemporary traditional.

Spa day w/ Mommy today~ we got our eyebrows done at Silky Touch (guh, it's been 2 days over a month since I've been in last!). Then, we went to Spa Utopia in North Van (Harbourside). It's very nice inside and boy do you pay for ambiance/service. They actually pamper and wait on you.  I had their "designed for U" facial and my mom had a full body signature massage. I snuck a couple of pictures off my cell phone before the battery went kaput.

This is inside the bathroom where you get a locker with your own robe, towel, and bath sandals. There are a bunch of products for you to use, some cucumber water and lemon water, a hairdryer, a curling iron, and sanitized combs. They also have a eucalyptus steam room/sauna which was very nice.
I tried curling my hair... lol fail :( I really need practice.
Outside the change room, they have this lounge area where you can sip different teas (in mugs or champagne-type flutes!) with mint leaves and lemon slices, eat a bunch of dried nuts and fruit, and read magazines with the spa music in the background. Soothing, but I hear the spa music all day at work so kind if ineffective for me.

Then quickly chowed down some sashimi at Sushi Town in N. Van and browsed around Ginger Jar Interiors (love their outdoor furniture!!! It really makes me swoon. They have some really unique indoor pieces too but they are super pricey) + made a pit stop at home before heading over to J.Lo's place just off of Commercial Dr. I would eat out so much if I lived where she was! Almost all the restaurants on Commercial Dr. are great... and they're known for such a variety, too! Anyway, she's been working on her garden recently and invited my family over for a BBQ. Apparently it (the backyard) was a bunch of nothingness before. It's nice how lush all her neighbour's back yards are! They really spend a lot of time tending to their yards. Good company~ spoiled by good food, too. Then, at the end, her partner brought out a portable firepit which kept us really warm outside (I need to get one)!

They made this arbor!
She installed little deck lights, too! So neat. Let's go acampin' in my backyard!!

[Currently scrambling to download Hangeng's new song, My Logo. I hope it's good!!!! OH and Brown Eyed Soul has a new single out!!! Is it Christmas?]

Make Up Your Mind

You know what would make my life so much easier? If they just had a mini mini mini Cafe Artigiano booth here at City Square. I can't afford to walk all the way down to Broadway during my break! 2.5 blocks away takes way too much time.... (and I don't walk slowly) oh but their Spanish Lattes are totally worth the effort. mmmmmmm I shall get one after work.

Anyway, currently liking LV's new Delightful Monogram GM! Single shoulder strap.. could possibly get the leather strap to convert it to across the shoulder. Classy and everyday. Like like like.
Some other things from the site that I sure wouldn't mind.
Considering how often I wear belts (not actually to hold my bottoms up, though), I should invest in one that costs more than $10, don't you think?

Jewelry Case. Oooo
Gucci almost always disappoints me...

Diane Von Frustenberg - pretty dress (Neiman Marcus)
And... I wouldn't say I get "suckered" into these sorts of pieces of versatility, but I kind of think this is neat.... (Bloomingdales)

Weekend! I had my convocation this morning. I guess I'm glad I went, but I almost fell asleep during the speeches... and who holds convocation at 9:45AM?! They should all be at 11AM or after.

Oh forget it. I'm going down to Artigiano. Helllooooo Spanish Latte :9
